A good way to learn physics is to start with simple models and then to move on to better models that have more uses and fewer limitations. This article introduces a relatively simple model of gravity, Newton's model, which is good enough for many purposes. Students who are already familiar with Newton's model may still benefit from reading this article, because the perspectives used here are also useful when learning other subjects.
