The Electromagnetic Field and Maxwell's Equations

Two long-range interactions exist in nature. One is gravity. The other is electromagnetism. This article introduces the field that mediates electromagnetism, with emphasis on the structure of the equations that govern its behavior (Maxwell's equations). Everything is formulated for an arbitrary number of spacetime dimensions.
